Supernatural Serial Killers

Image
Description Albert Fish held the genuine belief that the murders he committed were upon instruction from God. Peter Stumpp, who started practicing the "wicked arts from twelve years of age", was convinced he was a werewolf. There are many more murderous individuals like them. Supernatural Serial Killers explores the association between serial killers and the supernatural. The crimes committed by these men and women usually involved sexual deviance, cannibalism and violence toward children. In sixteenth century Europe, the problem became so significant that 'Werewolf Witch Trials' were conducted - many have no idea that it was possible to be tried and convicted for the crime of being a Werewolf, but Lycanthropy was a serious and major social concern in the 1500s. In this book, approximately twenty supernatural serial killers are discussed, including their background, crimes, trials and defenses. One Spirit Medicine

Image
I received the book free from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Description Today our minds, our emotions, our relationships, and our bodies are out of kilter. We know it, but we tend to ignore it until something brings us up short—a worrying diagnosis, a broken relationship, or simply an inability to function harmoniously in everyday life. When things are a little off, we read a self-help book. When they're really bad, we bring in oncologists to address cancer, neurologists to repair the brain, psychologists to help us understand our family of origin. But this fragmented approach to health is merely a stopgap. To truly heal, we need to return to the original recipe for wellness discovered by shamans millennia ago: One Spirit Medicine. Through One Spirit Medicine, the shamans found that they could grow a new body that allowed them to live in extraordinary health. They learned how to switch off the “death clock” inside every cell, and turn on the “immortality”

Quick, Yummy & Delicious! #HeatTearEat

Image
I received the Pace Cheesy Chicken Quesadilla from BzzAgent to try for free in exchange for an honest review. First off, I love that it is shelf stable.  This is handy for keeping in your desk at work.  Then when lunchtime hits, you grab it out & pop it in the microwave.  Plus it only takes 1 minute to heat up.  There are areas on the packaging that don't heat up.  So you don't have to worry about burning yourself when you take it out of the microwave. You can eat it straight from the package.  However, as you can see, I used it in a wrap & made a burrito out of it.  The wraps I had were oversized.  The amount in the package was more than would fill one wrap, but seems skimpy on two wraps like I had done. I really loved the flavor of it.  There was just enough kick of heat to it that it didn't punch you in the face, but you still got enough to really enjoy the flavor. I had been worried that the food would heat up enough in the one minute it was in

Broken Dolls

Image
Description Ella doesn't remember what it's like to be human; after all, she's lived as a doll for thirty years. She forgets what it's like to taste, to breathe...to love. She watches the professor create other dolls, but they don't seem to hang around for long. His most recent creation is Lisa, a sly goth. Ella doesn't like Lisa. How could she, when Lisa keeps trying to destroy her? Ella likes the professor's granddaughter though, even if she is dying. It's too bad the professor wants to turn Gabby into a doll, depriving her of an education...depriving her of life. With time running out and mad dolls on the rampage, Ella questions her very existence as she unearths the secrets buried in her past; secrets that will decide whether Gabby will befall the same fate...   Review So I just finished reading Broken Dolls.  I hadn’t heard of this author previously.  She had only written one book prior to this one and that was a few years ago.

Hemp Hearts

Image
As part of a healthier start to the new year, we tried hemp hearts.  I only received a small sample of them.  So I got to have one try.  I absolutely loved the hemp hearts that I received.  I only had a chance to try them one way though.  I sprinkled them on salads.  They gave a nice crunch to the salad.  The taste was light and pleasant.  Almost nutty in flavor.  I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I ate them.  I am definitely glad I tried them.  We will be buying more. Disclaimer:  I received this sample free from swaggable in exchange for an honest review.  I did not receive any form of compensation.
