I first found out about this book through Naturally Savvy , the creators of the book.  They have tons of great information on their website.  And when they pointed towards this book, I just

Live Below The Line

Image
One of the things that I have recently learned about is an upcoming awareness campaign called Live Below The Line .  This campaign is trying to help raise awareness about the extreme poverty that many people world wide live in.  Did you know that over 1.4 BILLION (yes you read that right! that says billion) people only get about $1.50 worth of food and drink per DAY!  Most Americans eat more then that in snack food alone per day.  So the challenge is to attempt to live for 5 days with only eating or drinking $1.50 worth of food and drink per day.  They are also asking to help raise money for the charities that they are partnered with.  For the US, those charities are Shot@Life , Unicef , Care , The Global Poverty Project , Global Syndicate , Malaria No More , and Rainforest Foundation US . As a review blogger, I get forwarded marketing campaigns through BzzAgent a lot.  It is usually for various products.  However, this one I felt was a very good social concerns cause that everyo

In this book, she talks about how all the various senses relate to food and eating.  As well as providing various exercises and tests so you can see how each thing interrelates and how you can develop your taste sensation to the fullest. Believe me!  Eating after reading this book is a whole ne

Good Earth Sweet & Spicy Tea

Image
Product Description   ABOUT THIS BLEND An aromatic sweet cinnamon tea with hints of orange. Our full flavored signature blend offers up a rich, spicy fragrance followed by a sweet, warming, clean taste without added sugar. INGREDIENTS Black tea, artificial flavor, rosehips, chamomile, cinnamon, lemongrass, peppermint, jasmine tea, papaya leaves, anise seed, ginger root, orange peel and orange oil. Product Review   We drink herbal teas A LOT in our household.  I think a lot of that is due to having a British heritage.  My family has always had the propensity to drink tea over coffee. This tea has become the new favorite in our house.  The flavors don’t overpower each other.  In fact, they all blend in so wonderfully together.  One thing that I loved about it was that while the tea is still in the mouth, you get the sweet & spicy tastes together.  Then just as it is going down your throat, you get a little zing from the cinnamon.  It was so heavenly delicious.

Sun Chips 6 Grain Medley Parmesan & Herb

Image
Product Review   I received several snack sized bags from the Frito Lay company to try out of their new Sun Chips 6 Grain Medley Parmesan & Herb flavored chips. According to the bag, the chips contain corn, wheat, oats, brown rice, buckwheat & quinoa.  The flavor that I got to try was Parmesan & Herb. The chips were wonderfully crunchy.  They definitely satisfied my hunger.  I especially loved the flavor.  It wasn’t too overpowering as I find many of the flavored chips are.  These had just the right amount of seasoning on each chip. What a nice way to enjoy a healthy snack. These are perfect to pack in lunches or even pop a snack sized bag into your purse.  They are the perfect pick me up whenever you need it. Review & Giveaway–Gorton’s

Image
I recently received 2 coupons from Gorton’s to allow me to get any of their frozen foods.  I bought the beer battered fish tenders and the crispy beer battered shrimp. First off, my brother-in-law will normally eat just about anything you put in front of him.  In fact, we refer to him as the human garbage disposal.  However, the one thing he refuses to eat are fish sticks or tenders.  He remembers back in the day the ones that they served at school.  Now this is going quite a ways back in time so cafeteria food was pretty bad back then. So when my brother-in-law heard what I was cooking, he was stomping around, pouting like a little kid instead of acting like a 45 year old man.  He was upset that I was going to cook food that he hates.  Well, since he was acting like I kid, I decided to treat him like a kid.  I told him that he had to eat all his food or he couldn’t get dessert. As soon as he took his first bite, he couldn’t shovel it in fast enough.  He realized that he actually
