Product Review

This is just one of the many different first aid kits that Intelligent First Aid offers.

Many of you know that I have been working in the medical field since 1988.  So not only am I looking at this product with the eyes of a home consumer, but also with the eyes of medical personnel.

The kit I received was the Talking Safe At Home® Intelligent First Aid kit.  It comes in an easy to carry canvas bag with a zipper closure.  Its lightweight and very portable.  It’s bright blue design makes it easy to spot when you are in a situation where you are trying to have someone bring you the kit who is not exactly sure where it is located.

The zippers open easily which is important when in an emergency situation.

Let’s go through all the things that are in this kit.

First you have the product manual.  On the front are depictions of the various color coded icons of the different packs.  This is just a basic kit so it only includes four packs.  Whereas, the larger kit has nine total packs.

Next we have a first aid book.  The first page has a place where you can record emergency information for each person in the house.  There are only spaces for 6 people, but this page can easily be photocopied if you have more then that living there.

The rest of the book takes you through the most common emergencies and how to deal with them.

Each pack contains a card.  On one side of the card is a list of the pack’s contents.  On the other side of the card is step by step instructions on how to handle the emergency.  In the talking pack, there is a switch on the side that turns the card’s sound on and off.  First you have to turn it on, then you have to squeeze the audio icon in the upper left hand corner to begin the speaking.

Each pack also contains the supplies needed to deal with the emergency.  These are easily replaced through their website.  Items that have an expiration date are clearly marked.

Each pack has what you need in order to deal with the emergency.  I showed my packs to several doctors that I have worked with.  They all agree that these are really great to have at the house.  They plan on promoting these packs in their practices because they will be helpful for their patients to have.
