#OnceUponATime & #Tron

Ok, Ok, I admit it!  I am a massive Oncer!  I can’t get enough of the show. This past week’s show has really got me thinking though.  I am not sure how many people have started picking up on the Once Upon A Time / Tron intertwining in the last episode. First off, let’s start off with the characters. Kurt Flynn is a single father on the Once Upon A Time Show of a young son named Owen Flynn.  Owen’s mom had passed away 6 months prior to the flashback parts of the episode.  Owen left to Wisconsin to live with his uncle after his father’s disappearance. Kevin Flynn is a single father in Tron of a young son named Sam Flynn (played by Owen Best in Tron 2.0: Legacy).  After Kevin’s disappearance, Sam was raised by his grandparents. Now let’s look at the storylines. Both Sam & Owen kept trying to get people to believe that their father’s were still alive.  No one would believe them. Kevin was swept up into a video game in 1989 (a world of advanced science).  Kurt was swept up into Storybro

John Carter

So this past Monday, I got to go watch John Carter in 3D!!!!  It was supposed to be me, my friend Krysta, and our friend Pat.  However, Pat couldn’t make it back into town in time. Anyway, I had to wait until today (launch day for the movie) before I could post this.  I have been dying to post it since I walked out of the theater!!  The movie theater was packed. First off, the movie is based off of the first three books in the Barsoom series by Edgar Rice Burroughs.  Yes, that is the same Edgar Rice Burroughs that wrote the Tarzan books.  The first in the series was The Princess of Mars written in 1912.  Now, I am sure you are wondering if a science fiction novel that was written in 1912 could still stand up to the test of time.  YES IT CAN!  WOW! Not only did it stand up to it, it outshone it too!  The actors that they chose to play the various parts were excellent choices.  The guy that played John Carter (Taylor Kitsch) is a gorgeous hunk that knows how to act well. Video Review   This movie was absolutely adorable!  Then again, I love pretty much everything that Disney has put out.  You get to see all the favorite characters from the original movie. I do have to admit that I was a little disappointed that they did not get Angela Lansbury to voice Mrs. Potts again.  I really loved her voice work on the original movie.  Just like on the original movie’s DVD, there are

Earth Day is almost here.  What better way to spend it then the opening of Disney’s new movie African Cats.  In fact, a portion of the proceeds from the first week of viewing will go to the African Wildlife Fund. The movie is being narrated by Samuel L Jackson and is live action.  The movie follows Mara, a lion cub who wants to grow up to be strong and wise like her mother.  We also follow Sita, a cheetah who happens to be a single mother of five.  Finally, we will also follow Fang who must defend his pride against a rival.  In anticipation of the upcoming movie, there are a host of things that you can do to help raise awareness for their See African Cats, Save the Savannah program.
