Last Post on Blogger

Ok. I have decided that I really don't like Blogger that much. You are really limited to what you can do with it. I have heard a lot of great things about WordPress. So I am heading over there. I already have a domain set up. I will be importing all of my previous posts so you won't miss anything. The only thing left to do over there is set up the way it looks. I don't have the time right now to do that since I have to leave for work. I will play with that once I get home. The new domain is www.wakela.com . A nice easy one to remember. I hope you will all still read me over on that site.

Sleuth part duex

Woohoo!  I finally figured out my password for my old character.  Its not one I normally use.  At least I can get back in and play on Wakela again.  I also have the one I just created the other day.  Her name is Sankara.  So if anyone of you feel so inclined, feel free to message me in game. Unfortunately, since I had been gone for several months, the agency I was in, Ona Mission, had to boot me out to make way for new people.  Agencies can only have so many people in them depending on their level.  I just sent a message to one of the officers.  Or so I thought.  I had noticed that Stooby had sent me a message.  I answered him back finally.  Well when I did a little snooping around, I found out that he and a few others from Ona are now in a new agency.  He is one of the directors.  I am not sure how or why this happened.  Oh well!  I am sure that I will eventually join another agency.

An oldie from the past

I just came across an old game that I used to play ages ago.  It was a lot of fun.  However, with everything that was going on in my life, I didn't have time to play games.  So I had stopped playing it and forgot all about it. The game is called Sleuth .  Its a free online game.  Its a basic murder mystery game.  You create a detective that you get to play through all of your cases.  While creating your detective, you get to choose your detective's background.  The background is what you were before you became a detective.  The game is set in the detective noir era.  It is all text based with a few pictures added for flavor.  The game itself is free, however you can get a subscription to it.  I had one on my previous character.  I can't remember the password for that one though.    So I had to create a whole new character.  If you play for free, you get to play 4 cases per day and only stay in New York.  If you decide to get the subscription, then you get 12 cases per d

Payday Loans

Christmas is fast approaching.  I don't know about anyone else this year, but it just seems that money is tight.  I was thinking about ways to get some money to buy presents from Payday loans . This site has intrigued me for awhile.  I am going to give it a try.  Basically it is a loan that gets paid back on your next payday.  They loan you anywhere from $100 to $1500.  On the day that the money is due to them, you have a few choices. you can pay it back in full renew the loan and pay interest and fees only renew the loan, pay interest and fees, and pay part of the money back do nothing and let it roll over until next pay period The application process is really simple.  I completed it in just a few minutes.  The interest is 15%.   The money even gets direct deposited into your checking account the next business day. I am giving it a try.  I need the extra cash.

TGIF!!!

Today wasn't too bad.  We could have gotten out at a great time, but MRI was pretty far behind.  She didn't take the 6:20pm patient back until 7:15pm.  So that didn't let us leave until shortly after 8pm.  The patients were all rather nice today.  Usually we get at least a few crabby ones.  Not today though.  I am so glad, I was really not in the mood to deal with anything.  Dr. H had made a point of coming up to the front desk to ask how I was feeling.  He had read my CT from the other day.  I told him that I was still hurting and feeling crappy.  I made a point of eating soup yesterday to help ease up on my intestines.  I figured that if I ate soup, it would be easier to digest. Time to head home.  I can't wait!  I got the invite to beta Pirates of the Burning Sea finally.  Now I have to patch it.  I had played a bit during the server load test.  However, I really couldn't stay connected because of the lag.  Hopefully, it will be better now since it is open

Dear Demon Barber Confessional

visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site When I first heard months ago that they were remaking Sweeney Todd I was excited. Once I found out that it was being done by Tim Burton, I was in awe. I can't wait for this movie to be released. For those of you who don't know the history of this movie, it was first released in theaters in 1936. Yes, you read that right. However, that was not the first appearance of Sweeney Todd. There were stories written about him in the late 1800s. There are some arguments as to whether or not Sweeney Todd actually existed. In the late 70s and early 80s, Sweeney Todd was released as a musical starring Angela Lansbury. First off, the movie stars Johnny Depp. Can we say yummy? He is a great actor and really gets into character. I can't wait to see him as the great Demon Barber himself! Then we have Mrs. Lovett being portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter. She is a pretty good actress. I just keep picturing her as Bellatri

Another day, another dollar (or is that penny?)

It's almost time for me to go to work.  I am really not looking forward to going.  Thankfully, this week has been really slow.  Hopefully, today won't be any different.  I just can't wait for the weekend.  I am feeling crappy still and I just want to chill at home. I ended up going to the doctor yesterday.  He sent me to have a stat CT of the abdomen and pelvis.  He thought that it might be appendicitis.  Thankfully, it wasn't!!  It looks  like I just have some sort of stomach virus that is affecting me worse because of my IBS.

PayPerPost

payperpost I had signed up for this ages ago. Since I didn't get approved within the first day, my airheadedness took over and I forgot to check back. Gmail had eaten my approval email. So I wandered over to Gellianne's blog today and noticed that she had signed up and was accepted. Woohoo! I was very happy for her. Then I remembered that I had signed up some time ago. I decided to wander over to see if I had been accepted. I was accepted ages ago. They have tons of wonderful offers that you can blog about. I was saddened that the one I would have really been great on was already full. Oh well! I will definitely keep checking back to see what wonderful offers they have. I know that we could all use a little extra money. So why not earn it while doing something that you love. I know I could use it to pay some bills or to buy some more computer games. One of the things that I like is the fact that they have this whole section that they label " The Lab " (m

Home from work

Well, I was sent home from work early today.  I have been having pain in the right upper quadrant of my abdomen (that is on the right side right under the rib cage).  I was worried it might be my gall bladder.  I go to see my doctor tomorrow.  However, its a good thing I work in a diagnostic center.  They went ahead and did an ultrasound and KUB on me today.  I went back and talked to the radiologist as he read the exam.  He said that both exams were normal.  So hopefully, we will find out what is going on tomorrow.

Secret Ingredient Tuesday #2 Rice

This weeks secret ingredient is Rice.   The only ones that I have used are from AllRecipes.com .  My family had never been big on cooking rice when I was growing up, so I don't have any that were passed down like I had from last weeks recipes.  Each recipe from AllRecipes.com was submitted to that site.  So I even included who submitted them to that site to give those people credit.   Risotto alla Milanese submitted by Manuela   INGREDIENTS 1 3/4 cups uncooked Arborio rice 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided 1 1/2 quarts beef stock 3 tablespoons beef marrow 1 onion, thinly sliced 1 teaspoon saffron powder 3/4 cup dry white wine salt to taste 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese DIRECTIONS Melt half of the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Simmer the onion and beef marrow in the butter for about 10 minutes. When the onion is soft, remove the onion and marrow from the pan using a slotted spoon, and set aside. (I like to lea

A New Start

Time to get serious again.   I just got my first Blood Glucose Monitor today.  I am going to start monitoring what I eat and how I feel after eating.  Plus I will be monitoring my blood sugar.  Hopefully, this will get me on track. Since there was a Diabetes Awareness fair going on, I also got tons of literature.  I am only borderline, but I don't want to become Diabetic.  The doctor said that I am right at the cusp.  If I lose weight and watch what I eat, then I will not become diabetic.  However, if I eat wrong and don't lose the weight, then I can become diabetic any day.

Photo Scavenger Hunt Swap

I am currently participating in a few swaps over at Swap-Bot .  One of them is a photo scavenger hunt.  Here are my submissions for this swap.   1.  Something Red This was taken on my trip to Key West a few months ago.    2.  Food This is the famous Sloppy Joe's Restaurant down in Key West.    3.  Child My great niece Abigail getting her first wash up after being born.  She looks so peaceful there.   4.  Nature This sunset was taken from my front porch after hurricane Wilma had hit.    5.  Animal Our border collie, Max.   6.  Coffee/Tea This is our tea/coffee cabinet.  It is filled with nothing but different varieties of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.  I love the hot chocolate the best.

Guided by Angels

Last night was a little bizarre.  Normally, when I log off the computer, I go downstairs and watch a little TV before going to sleep.  I can never go right to sleep because the walk down the stairs always seems to wake me up a little bit.  Anyway, I normally switch back and forth between Nick At Night or the Food Network.  These are usually the only channels that have anything worth watching.  I have gotten to the point that I don't even channel surf anymore. Last night, for some unknown reason, I started channel surfing.  As I was flipping through channels, I was taken aback to see someone I knew on TV.  Flipping through, I passed by a channel where Michelle Whitedove was on.  At first, I thought it was that local show that she used to have.  Actually, she might still have it, I don't really know.  Come to find out it was America's Psychic Challenge.  I had never even heard of that show before.  I first met Michelle in 1998 or 1999.  My mom, my sister B, and I had si
