Getting Back On Track

I had been doing really great with my weight loss.  I lost about 60 pounds but then stalled.  So I joined Weight Watchers.  I was doing pretty good on Smart Points plan.  However, with the new switch to Freestyle, I am really struggling.  Don’t get me wrong, Freestyle is a good plan for many people who have willpower and control over their eating.  For me, it just isn’t working.  With Freestyle, they have increased the number of foods that are free.  My big issue is that I didn’t overeat sweets & stuff like that.  I overate most of the foods that they have put to free.  It is easy for me to go back for 2nds or 3rds on chicken, fish, etc.  I prefer the savory foods.  I know that the leaders keep saying to think of it as zero points instead of free.  But I have a more logically inclined mindset.  Let me explain my way of thinking.  Imagine walking into a store with $23 in your pocket and being told that all the pants are free and you can take as many as you want.  You are going to gr

The first thing I noticed when I opened the bottle was the wonderful scent.  I have been working with essential oils for quite a while now.  Some blends are overpowering and do not have a pleasant smell.  This has a great aroma and is not too strong.  Plus the blend of carrier oils didn't leave me feeling greasy like some of them do.  This one absorbed into my skin and left it feeling soft afterwards. I did notice a huge drop in my appetite after I started using it.  And as an added bonus, grapefruit essential oil also helps with mental clarity and overall energy.  So I felt that it helped me in things other than just curbing my hunger. You can order a bottle from Amazon at:  http://www.amztk.com/weight-loss-essential-oil Disclaimer:  I received this product free in exchange for an honest  and unbiased review.  I did not receive any form of compensation.

Description In Visualization for Weight Loss, Jon Gabriel expands on the most talked about tool in his best-selling book, The Gabriel Method: visualization. This powerful technique helped Jon drop 220 pounds without dieting or deprivation because it didn’t depend on calorie counting or extreme exercise—rather it changed his biochemistry and neural pathways. In turn, this helped lower stress and its associated inflammatory chemicals in his body, allowing him to lose weight easily and naturally. Examining the importance of visualizing for weight loss, Jon takes readers through the latest research on the power of the mind in order to show why this technique works. And then he lays out concrete, unintimidating advice about how to implement visualization into their lives. In addition to teaching readers how to move into the most powerful brain state for enacting change, Jon includes visualizations to help readers:   Overcome disempowering beliefs surrounding food and we

Krystae is normal?

I got a call from Krysta last night. She had her surgery yesterday morning. For those of you who do not know, Krysta is my best friend. We have been through tons of stuff together. She has Crohn's disease. For her 30th birthday, she was treated to a "lovely" stay in the hospital and a botched surgery that left her with a colostomy bag. She had been having problems with it ever since. Fast forward to five years later, she finally got an appointment with one of the top colorectal surgeons in this area. He is very hard to get an appointment with. Apparently the reason that she had so much trouble with her colostomy bag is that the doctor who did the surgery really screwed it up. First off, they left too much infected intestine inside. Secondly, they placed the bag in the wrong spot. So she underwent a surgery to fix her that only caused her more pain and suffering. Yesterday morning was her surgery to correct this mishap. The new doctor had told her that he was

A shift in the waist line

Well, today is weigh in day over at Our Wicked Ways . I only started reading that blog last week. If you are trying to lose weight, I suggest you head on over. They are a great group of people over there. On Fridays, everyone weighs in and posts their losses or gains. Its a great boost to have others right there along side of you in the struggle. You get to see how everyone else is doing. Well, my normal weigh in day is usually Sundays, but I decided to weigh myself anyway. I had been cheating quite a bit this week due to stress at work. We have been working late every night this past week. Can you imagine, I didn't get home from work until 9:30 pm on Halloween. It was a real bummer. Anyway, according to the scale, I didn't gain and I didn't lose. I stayed the same. I was sort of relieved that I didn't gain, but at the same time I was bummed out that I didn't lose. Today at work we are allowed to wear jeans as long as we wear it with our official center

Shocked and pleasantly surprised

Well, Sunday's are my weigh in days. I was actually very shocked when I weighed in today. I really thought that I either gained or hadn't lost anything. This week at work was a bear and I know that I cheated a few times. Like when YL went to McDonald's the other day. Not only did I get a chicken caesar salad, but I also got an order of chicken fries. Let's also not forget that VB went to Cold Stone's on Friday. I ended up getting a medium Chocolate Chip Cookie dough with whipped cream on top. Yummy! Anyway, to make a long story short! I lost weight!! OMG!! I lost another 2 pounds! I can't believe it! I have lost a total of 18 pounds so far. I am so happy that I did lose though. I know when I don't, I tend to get frustrated and cheat more. Knowing that I am 2 pounds shy of losing 20 is definitely going to make me work harder though. Wow! I can't believe I am doing it. I have tried and tried so hard over the years. I just could never lose

Time to get off my butt

Ok so birthday is over. That doesn't mean I can still cheat on my diet. Wow! I allowed myself one day of indulgance and it stretched out for a week. Yes, I did not go back to my old eating habits. However, I did sneak in foods that aren't healthy. Such as that cheeseburger that I just had to have on Friday. I mean really. Plus lets not forget the french fries that juts begged to join in the fun. Not good at all. I went from simply allowing myself some pizza and a piece of cake on my birthday to a week long splurge. I have had pizza more then once this week, I have had candy, chocolate, cake, cheeseburger, and fries. I can't get upset at myself. When I do that, I just defeat myself and give up hope. I can't do it. Tomorrow is my official weigh in day. I already know what I weighed since I cheated and weighed myself today. I will do it tomorrow morning again since that is when I am supposed to be doing it. I am also giving myself a new start. So I messed up
