Review–A Clockwork Heart

Disclaimer: I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I did not receive any form of compensation.

First, let me point out that I did not read book one in this series.  I really wish that I had since there were places in the book that I really felt lost.  I am hoping that is because I really needed to read the first book in the series.

That being said, the overall book was pretty decent.  I wasn’t in love with the main character though.  Elle seemed like a petulant child who really needed to grow up.  It got rather tiresome after awhile.

Other then the main characters, I feel that all the other characters were really well developed.  The story was great and had tons of action.  However, you really don’t feel like much is resolved at the end of the book.

Overall, even though I love steampunk novels, I really didn’t enjoy this one to much.  But like I said, it could be because I hadn’t read book one and may have missed a lot.
