She wakes up in a beautiful glass house surrounded by doctors and the man that saved her life, Lamont Myers. Lamont offers her protection, if she abides by his rules. Among these; she must not leave the house, making her the bird in his gilded cage. Danny Hansen is a Bosnian immigrant who came to America to escape the bloodshed of his country and the memories of his own involvement. Danny is a priest who lives by a strict moral code, one which values the loving of others above all else. It is those that pretend to abide by religious and legal law but intentionally harm others that incense Danny. And he believes it is duty to show them the error of their ways. Those few that admit and renounce their behavior are forgiven and set free, but never without a severe reminder of their wrongdoings. Those that refuse to admit to the

Early Review–Plastic

Image
Book Description   Plastic built the modern world. Where would we be without bike helmets, baggies, toothbrushes, and pacemakers? But a century into our love affair with plastic, we’re starting to realize it’s not such a healthy relationship. Plastics draw on dwindling fossil fuels, leach harmful chemicals, litter landscapes, and destroy marine life. As journalist Susan Freinkel points out in this engaging and eye-opening book, we’re nearing a crisis point. We’ve produced as much plastic in the past decade as we did in the entire twentieth century. We’re drowning in the stuff, and we need to start making some hard choices. Freinkel gives us the tools we need with a blend of lively anecdotes and analysis. She combs through scientific studies and economic data, reporting from China and across the United States to assess the real impact of plastic on our lives. She tells her story through eight familiar plastic objects: comb, chair, Frisbee, IV bag, disposable lighter, grocery bag

Review–Yanni–Truth of Touch

Image
Product Review   I recently received a digital copy of Yanni’s newest CD from One2One Network. This is Yanni’s first album in several years.  I had always liked listening to Yanni.  His music is very relaxing.   Truth of Touch was no different. The album is labeled as an instrumental album.  However, there are two songs on it that actually have lyrics.  On those two songs, the instruments play the key role.  My favorite song is Guilty Pleasure.   It seems almost to have a mellow jazz beat to it.  The Track List Includes: Truth Of Touch Echo Of A Dream Seasons Voyage Flash Of Color Vertigo Nine Can’t Wait Guilty Pleasure O Luce Che Brilla Nell’Oscurita I’m So Long Way Home Yanni & Arturo Mist Of A Kiss Secret   Yanni recently started a 40 date US tour.  He will be travelling through most major cities in the US.  Check here for Yanni Tour Dates nearest you. Review & Giveaway – Purex with Zout

Image
I recently received a bottle of Purex Complete with Zout.  The first thing I looked for is the HE symbol on the bottle to make sure that it is compatible with my machine.  Thankfully it was.  I also noticed that it can be used in both top loading and front loading washers. When I opened the bottle, I was amazed at how wonderful it smelled.   It wasn’t overpowering in the least bit.  I was definitely wondering how the scent would hold up after washing.  I know many detergents smell good when you open the bottle, but don’t hold the fragrance after the wash.  I was happy to see that the scent not only lasted through the wash, but it stayed with the clothes until they were worn.  Here is your chance to get a free sample of Purex to try.  Just go to this site , fill out the form, and you will receive sample packets in the mail. Giveaway   I have two coupons for free full sized bottles of Purex with Zout to giveaway to one lucky reader.    Follow Wakela’s World on Twitter

Early Review–Breath of Angel

Image
Book Description   The stranger’s cloak had fallen back, and with it, a long, white, blood-stained wing. When Melaia, a young priestess, witnesses the gruesome murder of a stranger in the temple courtyard, age-old legends recited in song suddenly come to life. She discovers wings on the stranger, and the murderer takes the shape of both a hawk and a man. Angels. Shape-shifters. Myths and stories—until now. Melaia finds herself in the middle of a blood feud between two immortal brothers who destroyed the stairway to heaven, stranding angels in the earthly realm. When the feud turns violent and Melaia becomes a target, she finds refuge with a band of angels attempting to restore the stairway. But the restoration is impossible without the repayment of an ancient debt—the “breath of angel, blood of man,” a payment that involves Melaia’s heart, soul, and destiny. Book Review   This book is the first in the Angeleon Circle.  This was an incredible book.  It was an
