La Ciguapa

Image
Book Description   Hailey is struggling to make ends meet after a broken engagement when she learns that she is a Ciguapa, a mythological creature with reversed feet that preys on men.  Fed up with the direction of her life, Hailey and her best friend Tasha travel for some fun in the sun in the Dominican Republic to investigate the Ciguapa legend, where she meets Andrew and the lost tribe of Ciguapas. Torn between her love for Andrew and her desire to join the Ciguapas, Hailey must make the most important choice of all. Book Review   I was hoping to enjoy this book.  Unfortunately, I did not. I did not like the way that the narration took place.  Instead of normal, novel style narration, the author decided to go with play style narration.  To me, this breaks up the flow of reading. The reversed feet reminds me of that character on the old Beast Master show, Curupira which is based off the Guarani legend of Curupi.  I also found that there was too much repetition w

Review–Castle Ink

Image
Product Review   If you are anything like me, I go through printer ink like its water.  Unfortunately, printer ink can be very expensive when bought in the stores.  I found a much cheaper and nicer alternative.  I got ink from Castle Ink . Not only can you get ink cartridges, but if you have steady hands you can also get the cartridge refill kits.  Unfortunately, my hands aren’t steady enough for that.  I would be terrified of getting it everywhere. The website is extremely easy to use.  You can either look at the top where they have the majority of printer brands listed or you can click on the side menu for what you are wanting.  Ordering was quick and easy.  I got my ink within a few days. I chose the remanufactured cartridge.  I had no issues with installing.  And they printed wonderfully. They have a special offer going on right now.  If you spend over $39.99, they will ship to you for free. Just to show you the cartridges, I created a short video with KinKast .  You don’t hear me

Review–The Blessing of Adversity

Image
Book Description   Most people see trouble as something negative and seek to avoid it whenever possible. But what if it’s those troubles that actually lead to greater blessing and purpose? In The Blessing of Adversity , a retired U.S. Navy admiral and the 62nd chaplain of the U.S. Senate distills the wisdom gained from thirty years as a counselor, theologian, and psychologist. Barry Black offers a blueprint for removing the sting of life’s trials, showing us how to let God use our pain for his glory by blessing others—and how that can actually help heal our own pain. Drawing on Scripture and his own experiences as a counselor and chaplain to some of the most powerful people in the world, Black teaches us how to deal with seasons of God’s apparent silence, offers techniques for staying encouraged in the middle of life’s storms, and shows how to find advantages in adversity. Book Review   This book was filled with words of power and love.  It was an incredibly well writte
