Book Description   How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul? Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache. When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening

Guardian of the Vision

Book Description   Twins Griffin and Donovan Kirkwood, descendants of the Pendragon, are bound to protect Elizabethan England. Griffin becomes a priest in France. Roanna Douglas, descended from Nimue and holding a personal grudge against the Kirkwoods, journeys to France to summon Tryblith, the Demon of Chaos. To save England, Donovan must unlock the magic inside him to become the Pendragon. Book Review   What a great book!  I can’t believe this great series has been around since 2002 and I am just now finding out about it.  This is actually the third book in the series, but it is the first one that I have read. I love the fact that the characters aren’t one sided.  Everyone is composed of shades of grey.  No one person is completely good or evil.  It’s hard to pick just one person to really root for in this book.  And since everyone has the ability to do either good or evil, you never can tell how a character is going to react in a situation until the situation comes up.

Harper Madigan: The Junior High Private Eye

Image
Book Description   7th grade detective Harper Madigan works alone . He doesn't need the vice principal assigning him a new partner to keep him in line, especially a stuffed-shirt wannabe-journalist who totally cramps his style. And he especially doesn’t need his troublemaker ex-girlfriend showing up out the blue and asking for his help. She’s accused of attacking the star of the school musical, and with her less-than-sparkling track record, she’s only one suspension away from getting expelled. Only Harper believes she’s innocent, and now it’s up to him to prove it, even if it means making an enemy of the PTA mafia, risking his agency, and confronting the mistakes of his own dark past. But when his new partner insists on doing everything by the book, and his old nemesis–the one bully he can’t catch–starts harassing his clients, it’s going to take more than just detective work to solve the case. Book Review   This book was a delightful read.  It may be geared towards

Book Description   Tree-huggin’, animal-lovin’ Bridget Pickwick-Buchanan is on a mission. Well, two. First she has to come to terms with being a widow at thirty-three. After all, it’s been four years and even her five-year-old niece and nephew think it’s time she shed her widow’s weeds. Second, she needs to find a buyer for her family’s estate—a Biltmore-inspired mansion surrounded by hundreds of acres of unspoiled forestland. With family obligations forcing the sale, Bridget is determined to find an eco-friendly developer to buy the land, someone who won’t turn it into single-family homes or a cheesy theme park. Enter J. C. Dirk, a high-energy developer from Atlanta whose green property developments have earned him national acclaim. When he doesn’t return her calls, Bridget decides a personal visit is in order. Unfortunately, J. C. Dirk is neither amused nor interested when she interrupts his meeting—until she mentions her family name. In short order, he finds himself in North

The Mexican Saga

Image
Book Description   On December 21st 2012, the Mayan 'Long Count' calendar cycle will come to an end. A new cycle of time will replace what has gone before. To some, this means doomsday; to others a new beginning. To the Nagual, the Toltec energy masters who exist in deep time, the great cycles of time are the very warp and weft of their existence. Read this poetic narrative and feel the experiential, non-narcotic rush of a four-year-old initiate who grows to become a full-fledged Nagual. In length and heft, The Mexican Saga is written in verse, but reads like a short story, filled with wit, humor, and a sense of the wonder of beings that perceive realms of existence only dimly visible to us. Prepare for December 21st 2012... Book Review   As December 21, 2012 fast approaches, many wonder what it means for the Mayan calendar to end.  There has been so many various outlooks on this.  Of course, one of the popular theories is that the world will cease to exist.

45 Free Reiki Attunements

Image
Book Description   This book contains 24 free attunements to Usui Reiki, New Usui Reiki, Full Spectrum Healing, Lavender Flame, Silver Violet Flame, Karuna Ki, Kundalini Reiki, Imara Reiki, Green Tara Seichim, Golden Ray, Gold Reiki, Shamballa Multi-Dimensional Healing, and an Axiatonal Lines Connection. This book also contains 21 additional Ray attunements. Book Review   I have really mixed feelings about this book.  First off, I love the fact that he is including so many various Reiki attunements to a lot of different modalities. However, he does not instruct how to use the modalities.  Different modalities have different signs and symbols.  Some have prayers or special rites to perform prior to using them on yourself or a person you are healing.  Basically, you get a brief run down of what each modality is in essence.  And I mean really brief.  Then you get a page or two for each modality saying to read aloud a sentence saying you accept that attunement. Yes, I know
