PayPerPost

payperpost I had signed up for this ages ago. Since I didn't get approved within the first day, my airheadedness took over and I forgot to check back. Gmail had eaten my approval email. So I wandered over to Gellianne's blog today and noticed that she had signed up and was accepted. Woohoo! I was very happy for her. Then I remembered that I had signed up some time ago. I decided to wander over to see if I had been accepted. I was accepted ages ago. They have tons of wonderful offers that you can blog about. I was saddened that the one I would have really been great on was already full. Oh well! I will definitely keep checking back to see what wonderful offers they have. I know that we could all use a little extra money. So why not earn it while doing something that you love. I know I could use it to pay some bills or to buy some more computer games. One of the things that I like is the fact that they have this whole section that they label " The Lab " (m

Home from work

Well, I was sent home from work early today.  I have been having pain in the right upper quadrant of my abdomen (that is on the right side right under the rib cage).  I was worried it might be my gall bladder.  I go to see my doctor tomorrow.  However, its a good thing I work in a diagnostic center.  They went ahead and did an ultrasound and KUB on me today.  I went back and talked to the radiologist as he read the exam.  He said that both exams were normal.  So hopefully, we will find out what is going on tomorrow.

Secret Ingredient Tuesday #2 Rice

This weeks secret ingredient is Rice.   The only ones that I have used are from AllRecipes.com .  My family had never been big on cooking rice when I was growing up, so I don't have any that were passed down like I had from last weeks recipes.  Each recipe from AllRecipes.com was submitted to that site.  So I even included who submitted them to that site to give those people credit.   Risotto alla Milanese submitted by Manuela   INGREDIENTS 1 3/4 cups uncooked Arborio rice 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided 1 1/2 quarts beef stock 3 tablespoons beef marrow 1 onion, thinly sliced 1 teaspoon saffron powder 3/4 cup dry white wine salt to taste 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese DIRECTIONS Melt half of the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Simmer the onion and beef marrow in the butter for about 10 minutes. When the onion is soft, remove the onion and marrow from the pan using a slotted spoon, and set aside. (I like to lea

A New Start

Time to get serious again.   I just got my first Blood Glucose Monitor today.  I am going to start monitoring what I eat and how I feel after eating.  Plus I will be monitoring my blood sugar.  Hopefully, this will get me on track. Since there was a Diabetes Awareness fair going on, I also got tons of literature.  I am only borderline, but I don't want to become Diabetic.  The doctor said that I am right at the cusp.  If I lose weight and watch what I eat, then I will not become diabetic.  However, if I eat wrong and don't lose the weight, then I can become diabetic any day.

Photo Scavenger Hunt Swap

I am currently participating in a few swaps over at Swap-Bot .  One of them is a photo scavenger hunt.  Here are my submissions for this swap.   1.  Something Red This was taken on my trip to Key West a few months ago.    2.  Food This is the famous Sloppy Joe's Restaurant down in Key West.    3.  Child My great niece Abigail getting her first wash up after being born.  She looks so peaceful there.   4.  Nature This sunset was taken from my front porch after hurricane Wilma had hit.    5.  Animal Our border collie, Max.   6.  Coffee/Tea This is our tea/coffee cabinet.  It is filled with nothing but different varieties of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.  I love the hot chocolate the best.

Guided by Angels

Last night was a little bizarre.  Normally, when I log off the computer, I go downstairs and watch a little TV before going to sleep.  I can never go right to sleep because the walk down the stairs always seems to wake me up a little bit.  Anyway, I normally switch back and forth between Nick At Night or the Food Network.  These are usually the only channels that have anything worth watching.  I have gotten to the point that I don't even channel surf anymore. Last night, for some unknown reason, I started channel surfing.  As I was flipping through channels, I was taken aback to see someone I knew on TV.  Flipping through, I passed by a channel where Michelle Whitedove was on.  At first, I thought it was that local show that she used to have.  Actually, she might still have it, I don't really know.  Come to find out it was America's Psychic Challenge.  I had never even heard of that show before.  I first met Michelle in 1998 or 1999.  My mom, my sister B, and I had si

The Infamous Picture

Image
I finally remembered to bring my camera to work today.  So for those of you who remember the story of the lady who sees invisible cars , here are two photos of the picture.   This first one was taken with the flash on.     This second one was taken with the flash off.  Unfortunately, you can still see reflections since the overhead lighting there is really powerful.  In fact, you can see the reflections of the overhead lights. Here are the pictures.  As you can see, there aren't any cars.
